BLOOD AND OTHER SAMPLES
The following instructions are very important in order to have correct Laboratory results. Please read the instructions carefully:
Sample taking, correct sample storage and submission, as well as fasting from food and drink for special tests are essential to get reliable Laboratory results.

1.    Check-up (General Screen): (cholesterol, triglycerides, glucose, HDL, LDL, etc.). Fasting for about 12 hours is required. A glass of water, if needed, can be taken.
2.    Medications: Please tell us about any medications or other treatments you receive.
3.    Packing: Use disposable containers with lids that close well and tight.
4.    Thyroid gland: No special preparation is needed. If you are taking medications, it is advisable when repeating the tests to do so around the same time during each examination or as directed by your doctor. i.e. whether or not you are to receive your medication before the blood test is best to consult your doctor.
5.    Reproductive hormones: (eg, FSH, LH, progesterone, estradiol), it is preferable to perform the tests on a specific cycle day or as directed by your doctor.
6.    Cortisol: The sample is either taken in the morning or evening (6:00 to 8:00 am or 7:00 to 10:00  pm) or as directed by your doctor.
7.    Stools: Stools should be placed in clean containers (if no container is available foil can be used). They are then placed in laboratory containers, however never directly from the toilet.
8.    Semen analysis: Be abstinent from sexual intercourse for three days. Collect all semen in a special sterile container and transported to the laboratory within 30 minutes. Smoking and drinking the previous day can affect the results. If you take any drugs please ask your doctor if you should take them or not before the examination.
